About
the "Bell" sisters
Tumble
City was established in 1992 as
Gymnastics, Etc. At that
time, sisters Wendy Dinkel and Cheryl Hunter contracted their coaching
services to the City of Yucaipa. In
1998 the sister team leased a small building in Redlands and moved their
gymnastics company into it. Since
then the program continued to grow and eventually moved to San Bernardino
as Empire Gymnastics, where the two decided to change their focus from
competitive developmental programs to fitness and performance oriented
programming. They sold their competitive type equipment and
dissolved "Empire Gymnastics" then moved back home to Yucaipa
and opened Tumble City. Wendy
and Cheryl began coaching together in 1986 when Wendy graduated from high
school and Cheryl hired her for the gymnastics program at the YMCA of San
Bernardino. Together, they coached boys and girls to district and
state championships. |
| Wendy Dinkel was a competitive gymnast for many
years, played basketball and ran track at Yucaipa High School, and
basketball in her first year of college.
She then joined the college cheer squad and brought tumbling to the
forefront at RCC. An
accomplished choreographer, Wendy gets her greatest pleasure out of
creating and producing acrobatic/dance/theatric performances.
She is an awesome tumbling coach and athletic dancer. Wendy
began her coaching career in 1985 when she began teaching summer classes
at RCC and for the City of Fontana. In 1986 Wendy was hired by
sister Cheryl to work at the YMCA of San Bernardino where she stayed until
1990.
Wendy
has been certified through USAIGC, USGF and now USA Gymnastics. She
attends annual coaching seminars through various organizations.
Wendy

School. Cheryl started coaching in 1979 for the City of Yucaipa, then was
hired by Redlands Gymnastics Center. In 1981 Cheryl went to work for
the YMCA of San Bernardino as a coach and Gymnastics Program Director
until 1992.

USGF, and now USA Gymnastics. She has attended coaching and business
seminars through various organizations nearly every year since her
